Welcome to RAP! Here is a quick start guide for you to understand basic functions about the platform and how to use them. Always remember, the more you explore yourself, the more fun it is.
Method 1: In the launcher tab, simply click on any of the three available kernels and a new notebook will pop up with the requested kernel type. You can rename the notebook in the Contents drawer.
Method 2: In the Contents toolbar, click on “Create a Notebook”. This would create an “.ipynb” notebook with PySpark kernel by default.
To share any file with another user, simply click on the ellipses (the three dots ) and select ‘Copy To User(s)’ option. A dialog box will pop up which will list all active users on your cluster, and you can copy the file to them.
Since there is no trash bin inside of RAP, deleting a notebook will permanently delete it from your cluster. Hence, we recommend that you create a trash folder and put your files inside it as part of temporarily deleting them.
