Two tools, one data source for enhanced mortgage analytics

Having reliable, clear visibility into organizational and industry trends and analytics can provide actionable insight to help lenders increase loan pull-through, reduce risk and uncover new growth opportunities. However, many organizations struggle with disjointed reporting processes. Relying on multiple vendors and disparate systems can create data silos, drive up operational costs and delay critical decision-making.

The challenge of disjointed data reporting

When your reporting platforms aren’t embedded within the mortgage tools your teams use, friction can occur. Analysts will spend significant time building integrations and customizing reports, instead of focusing their time on higher-value work.

The downstream effect is significant. As operations managers and branch leaders submit ad hoc requests, analyst teams take days to fulfill these reporting needs, and by the time results are ready, the underlying data may already be stale.

Two different solutions. Two different end-users. One data source for your organization.

By combining ICE Business Intelligence (ICE BI) and Encompass Data Connect®, you can free up your technical data team, enhance your analytic capabilities and put self-service reporting directly into the hands of the people who need it most, so they can make more confident, faster data-driven decisions.

While ICE BI and Data Connect serve two end-users in the same lending organization, they both pull from a single data source: the Encompass® loan origination system (LOS). Because both solutions pull data directly from the same system of record, there are no reconciliation issues between what your operations team sees and what your data analysts query.

ICE BI for operations

ICE BI is built for business professionals who want easy, out-of-the-box access to mortgage data insights. The solution provides management and operations staff with direct access to the information they need through self-service and preconfigured analytics, intuitive dashboards and automated workflows.

Benefits include:

  • Access to data, refreshed hourly, meaning your information is never stale.
  • Out-of-the-box reporting for immediate pipeline and production visibility.
  • The ability to easily track branch-level performance, configure KPIs, manage regulatory metrics and optimize loan offerings.
  • A combination of Encompass and other proprietary data, reliable third-party data sets and the user’s data to provide a comprehensive market view.

Encompass Data Connect for data analysts

Data Connect provides data analysts, engineers and business intelligence developers with access to complex loan data, with the flexibility to access all Encompass loan data fields in near real-time. Data can be accessed either through your reporting system of record or from a dedicated Snowflake instance which can be consumed by your reporting system. It exposes over 40,000 fields of loan data for users who want to perform data team functions such as building custom models or consolidating data across multiple platforms.

Benefits include:

  • The ability to consolidate data. For example, users can feed Encompass data into a central data warehouse alongside core banking, CRM and accounting systems.
  • Faster turnaround on routine reporting requests using trusted Encompass data as a single source of truth, ready for warehouse and business intelligence use.
  • More time to focus on specific requests and custom analytic needs, as well as predictive modeling and cross-system integration.
  • Automated data updates that stay aligned with changes in Encompass loan data over time.

Free up your data team to focus on what’s important

While both solutions have their own value, businesses can scale to add one or the other based on their size and need.

For existing Data Connect users, ICE BI is a natural complement. If your data team is having to field low-complexity requests while also focusing on building custom analytics, ICE BI provides the self-service capabilities to alleviate that burden. The reverse is also true: if your organization has outgrown packaged reporting and needs a data warehouse or custom modeling capability, Data Connect is the next step.

If you want to decrease operational costs, streamline your workflows and maintain a competitive edge, give your teams the exact tools they need to be more productive. When ICE BI and Data Connect work together, a secure, automated and highly efficient analytics ecosystem is established.
